Summary of the role:

The Operator assists the Site Manager in the efficient and effective running of the plant. Working five days a week, Monday to Friday, with call out responsibilities to ensure that the plant has cover every day.

Roles and Responsibilities

- Day to day operations on the Anaerobic Digestion plant

- Running the plant via a DCS or SCADA system, ensuring the plant is running as it should via the screens

- Visual plant and equipment fault-finding including logging information relevant to the health of the plant.

- Performing first line maintenance activities, involving the isolation of key equipment to perform routine maintenance

- Feeding the plant according to a prescribed regime to achieve optimum output

- Driving a Telehandler and other machinery on site

- Keeping the site clean and tidy

- Contributing to positive site operations and looking for continuous improvement opportunities

-Actively participate in the review of risk assessments and assist in the production of new risk assessments and safe operating procedures as necessary

Skills, Qualifications, Knowledge and Experience required:

Skills and Qualifications

- A qualification in an engineering discipline would be ideal (HNC / HND in mechanical or electrical engineering for example)

- Telehandler licence and able to drive mobile plant

Knowledge and Experience

-AD site experience is desirable

-Ability to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines

-Commitment to always achieve the highest standards of work

-Takes full ownership of tasks through to conclusion
