Sheridan Maine is working with a dynamic business in the West Bromwich area seeking a proactive Management Accountant to join their team.About the RoleIn this key role, you will be instrumental in transforming the finance function across European entities as the company establishes a shared services model. Working with a team passionate about driving change, you will help tackle transactional backlogs, enhance financial control standards, and set up best practices across locations.Your responsibilities as the Management Accountant will include:
  • Clear the backlog of financial postings across multiple entities.
  • Support day-to-day transactional processes, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, and general ledger maintenance.
  • Update and maintain accurate financial records.
  • Establish and enhance financial controls by identifying gaps, recommending solutions, and developing standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure compliance.
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts and other quarterly reports
  • Assist with quarterly reforecasting and annual budgeting.
  • Identify opportunities for process standardisation and efficiency within the finance function.
This is a hands-on role ideal for someone proactive, with a keen eye for detail and a strong interest in improving processes.We are looking for a candidate who is:
  • Actively studying towards their ACCA, CIMA, or similar qualification.
  • Experienced in management accounting, with a strong understanding of financial control and transaction processing.
  • Strong understanding of transactional accounting, reconciliations, and financial controls.
  • Comfortable with occasional travel to European business locations as required.
