Role & Client Overview:

We have an exciting opportunity for an Internal Quality Assurance (IQA) professional to join our team. This role requires travel across the Black Country with occasional overnight stays. You will be allocated a base centre (closest to your home), from which expenses can be claimed.

As an IQA, you will ensure the highest quality of assessment and learning across our Study Programme and Apprenticeship Standards, working closely with tutors, assessors, and the wider quality team. You will play a vital role in mentoring staff, driving quality improvements, and ensuring compliance with awarding body requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

Quality Assurance & Compliance

  • Conduct internal quality assurance for all Study Programme and Apprenticeship Standards qualifications.
  • Ensure Functional Skills and Employability are embedded throughout the learner journey.
  • Conduct formal assessments in line with awarding body requirements.
  • Support the quality team to maintain direct claims status from EQAs.
  • Undertake observations of teaching, learning, and assessment.
  • Monitor the impact of curriculum on Work Preparation and Work Experience.
  • Ensure compliance with assessment, verification, and invigilation procedures.
  • Conduct audit checks at identified delivery sites.

Staff Support & Development

  • Train, mentor, and support tutors and assessors to ensure high-quality delivery.
  • Plan and conduct staff training sessions and standardisation meetings.
  • Support new staff in developing assessment confidence and accuracy.
  • Implement and chair regular assessor and standardisation meetings.

Continuous Improvement

  • Track learner progress and tutor/coach submissions to ensure timely completions.
  • Work with Senior Management and the Quality Team to drive outstanding provision.
  • Assist in curriculum development, quality improvement, and self-assessment processes.
  • Gather and analyse learner and employer feedback to enhance provision.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Represent the company at external events and network groups.
  • Attend two annual company 'away days'.
  • Promote and comply with Equal Opportunities and Safeguarding policies.

Essential/Desirable Criteria:

Essential:

  • Experience of teaching and/or assessing in the Further Education (FE) sector.
  • Experience in Functional Skills, Work Preparation, and Employability.
  • Strong knowledge of assessment and verification procedures.
  • Experience conducting internal quality assurance.
  • Experience working with awarding bodies and hosting EQA visits.
  • Experience observing and evaluating teaching and learning.
  • Understanding of Google Drive and digital tools.
  • Full TAQA/V1 qualification (or equivalent).
  • Minimum Level 2 in Maths and English.
  • Enhanced DBS disclosure.
  • Willingness to travel across the region (with occasional overnight stays).

Desirable:

  • Experience delivering staff training.
  • Experience working with SEND learners (including JCQ access arrangements).
  • QTLS status.
  • L3 Coaching & Mentoring qualification.
  • Subject specialism in Maths, English, ICT, or relevant vocational areas.
