Electrical Quality Engineer Location: West Bromwich Salary: GBP40,000 - GBP42,000 per year. Hours: Monday - Friday, 8.30am - 4.30pm. Job type: Full-time, permanent Bridge Recruitment is helping one of our established clients recruit for an experienced Electrical Quality Engineer to join their ever-expanding team. Responsibilities of the Electrical Quality Engineer: 路 Conduct in-depth inspections of installed electrical systems: LV/MV switchgear, tap of units, distribution panels, busbars, and control units. 路 Verify correct installation methods per British Standards, IEC Standards and other relevant standards, construction drawings, and specifications. 路 Sign-off installed systems post-verification, ensuring compliance with both technical standards and customer specifications. 路 Act as the on-site technical liaison for contractors, installers, and customers. 路 Lead inspection and testing of electrical components and assemblies during in-house production. 路 Audit supplier installation practices and electrical build quality. 路 Ensure compliance documentation (DoCs, certifications, risk assessments) are accurate and audit ready. 路 Work with Engineering, Quality, Production, Supply Chain, Project Manager, and Commercial teams to align technical expectations and field realities. 路 Maintain professional, tactful communication in high-pressure scenarios, using patience, and conflict resolution techniques to manage challenging customers or disputes effectively. 路 Provide on-site rapid response for urgent electrical failures or system malfunctions, including immediate diagnostics, customer reassurance, and follow-up corrective actions. Requirements of the Electrical Quality Engineer: 路 Degree / HND / HNC in Electrical Engineering 路 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS7671) 路 City & Guilds 2391 or equivalent Inspection & Testing certification 路 5+ years in field-based electrical inspection, commissioning, or technical support 路 Proficient with electrical drawings, wiring schematics, and system layouts 路 Hands-on use of electrical test tools: insulation testers, thermal cameras, loop impedance testers, etc. 路 Ability to work as part of a team and on your own initiative 路 Experience managing commercial relationships with customers, subcontractors and distributors. 路 Willingness to travel and work independently on-site.
