Day to Day Duties

  • Permanent, full-time. Please note this role is based on-site full time
  • Work closely with the site SHE Manager to ensure compliance
  • Support the continual Improvement of Health, Safety & Environmental for the business
  • Help deliver new Ideas and strategies to support growth
  • Work closely with the site production teams to further develop the H&S culture
  • Help support the SHE Manager build a better H&S culture across the other Managers
  • Work with the Business Excellence Advisor to ensure training Is delivered
  • Help ensure all legislation changes relevant to the business are delivered.

Responsibilities:

  • Contributing towards the achievement of further SHE accreditations in line with the company’s strategic plan
  • Working with the H&S manager to coordinate & participate in site H&S safety inspections, including note taking
  • Undertake risk assessments and produce SSOW
  • Assist with managing the Company's Occupational Health surveillance
  • Assisting with the annual review of risk assessments, to include COSHH assessments
  • Assisting with accident and incident investigations / RIDDOR reporting to ensure the timely production of corrective and preventative action plans
  • Assisting with day-to-day health and safety activities
  • Assisting with client specific on-boarding processes and control of contractors
  • Reviewing, updating and analysing employee training records
  • Updating and maintaining health and safety records
  • Coordinating and booking industry accredited training courses
  • Purchasing H&S consumables, signage and PPE, ensuring adequate supplies are maintained
  • Preparing Health and Safety literature including memos’, newsletters and tool box talks on a monthly basis
  • Updating health and safety notice boards and safety signage where required
  • Providing office cover in the absence of the SHE Manager
  • Delivering company inductions as and when required
  • Monitoring and replenishing First Aid stations across site
  • Attending meetings and minute taking
  • General filling and scanning of documentation
  • Assisting with Health, Safety & Environmental site audits

Essential Skills

  • The company will support with NEBOSH qualification, Environmental qualification and Audit qualification in this position.

Qualifications:

  • Awareness of Health, Safety and Environmental legislation
  • An understanding of 14001 & 45001 desirable
  • Experience of working In a manufacturing environment advantageous
  • Minimum 1 year’s Health & Safety experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Desirable Experience

  • IOSH qualified – Managing Safely, and be willing to work towards NEBOSH Certification
