Our wonderful Sandwell Primary school is now looking for a talented teaching assistant to join them on a part-time basis for the whole spring term initially. They need a teaching assistant just like you!

As a Teaching Assistant, your role is to support children in the year 6 classroom, ensuring all pupils are offered support with maths and literacy work in the mornings. Your afternoons will be spent offering intervention and booster groups to pupils who require addition support. Your role will be to support their academic and personal well-being. Working to ensure every child has the best opportunity to reach their full potential in a caring and safe environment.

The role:

  • Teaching Assistant
  • year 6 / key stage 2
  • Part-time (Monday to Wednesday)
  • Spring term and possibly summer term
  • Sandwell

Duties will include:

  • To establish a warm, caring and supportive relationship with pupils in order to support them feeling safe and enabling them to enjoy and learn during their time at the School.
  • To promote and encourage independence and personal development
  • Support the Class Teacher in all areas of the day to day running of the class
  • To respond to the varying and changing needs of the school and adapt to any task presented to achieve the smooth running of the school.
  • To promote pupil's cognitive, social, emotional, behavioural, physical development and spiritual well-being.

Experience /Qualifications:

  • GCSE Maths and English qualification minimum Level 2 or equivalent is essential.
  • Key stage 2 curriculum knowledge is essential
  • Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant Qualification (desirable but not essential)
  • Experience of working in a primary school environment is highly desirable.
