Mechanical Engineering Manager - COMAH/Chemical IndustryLocation: West Bromwich.Salary Range £45k - £60k DOE.Hours: 8am - 4.30pm (40 hours).I am pleased to be recruiting for my client based in West Bromwich who is one of the UK's leading Chemical Manufacturers.A vacancy has arisen to join the Engineering Department in a senior position as a Mechanical Engineering Manager.This is an excellent opportunity to work as part of a highly skilled Engineering team within a lower tier COMAH facility.The successful candidate will be an experienced, qualified Mechanical Engineer/Manager and we are looking for an immediate start.The ideal candidate will have the following experience:
  • Overall responsibility for the management of the Mechanical Engineering & Civil Engineering departments which includes 25 staff, and contractors as and when required.
  • Mechanical maintenance department management.
  • Mechanical project engineering management experience within an industrial manufacturing environment.
  • Fluent in Computerised Maintenance Management Systems.
  • Excellent personnel management skills.
  • Excellent computer skills.
  • Safety, Health & Environmental - To maintain and promote a safe operating culture within the department ensuring that in all its aspects of installation and maintenance it operates to the highest levels of safety and meets all legal and statutory requirements, company rules and procedures.
  • Liaison at all levels inside the company. Outside contacts typically include suppliers, contractors and agencies such as the HSE & insurance inspectors.
Qualifications/Training
  • A Mechanical Engineering HNC, ideally a Mechanical Engineering degree.
  • 10 years' experience within an industrial manufacturing environment in a Mechanical Engineering role, which at least 5 years would be in a supervisory role.
  • The job requires a flexible attitude to deal with multiple complex jobs simultaneously to meet the required changes in operational priorities.
