Neon Contracts is employing for our client in the West Bromwich area, they are a leading manufacturer and distributor of electrical, mechanical, and safety infrastructure solutions. With approximately 3,900 employees and 65 manufacturing and distribution facilities worldwide, they manufacture electrical conduit, cable management systems, armoured cable, metal framing, and security products and solutions.

Who we are looking for:

We are seeking a skilled Resistance Welding Technician to join their dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining resistance welding machines to produce high-quality welds on a variety of materials. This role requires a high level of technical expertise, attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining safety and quality standards.

What youll do:

  • Set up, adjust, and operate resistance welding equipment
  • Perform regular machine maintenance and troubleshooting to ensure optimal performance.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and work orders to determine welding requirements.
  • Inspect welded joints for conformance to specifications using visual and mechanical inspection techniques.
  • Monitor the welding process to ensure consistent quality and make necessary adjustments to machines.
  • Collaborate with engineers and production staff to optimize welding processes.
  • Maintain detailed records of machine settings, maintenance logs, and production output.
  • Follow all safety guidelines and protocols, ensuring a safe working environment.

What you bring:

  • Proven experience with resistance welding techniques, especially in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot and repair welding equipment.
  • Familiarity with various welding standards and inspection techniques.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and welding symbols.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks.
  • Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment, which may include exposure to noise, heat, and metal particulates.

Hours of work will be 39 hours per week working 2-week rota shift pattern -

Shift 1 Monday -Thursday 6am -2pm and Friday 6am-1pm

Shift 2 Monday-Thursday 2pm-10pm and Friday 1pm-8pm

Hourly pay rate £11.44- £12.50, you will also be entitled to 22% shift allowance.
