We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant to join our team on a supply basis, supporting primary schools across the Sandwell area. This role offers a unique opportunity to work flexibly within a variety of educational settings, catering to the diverse needs of students with a range of special educational needs and disabilities.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one and small group support to pupils with SEND, including autism, ADHD, Global Delay, and complex behaviour.
  • Assist in the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and behaviour management strategies.
  • Support the social and emotional development of pupils, promoting inclusion and positive engagement.
  • Engage in personal care tasks as required by individual pupil needs.
  • Collaborate effectively with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals to ensure the best outcomes for pupils.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children with SEND in a primary school setting is essential.
  • Confidence and proficiency in managing challenging behaviour and implementing behaviour management strategies.
  • Understanding of and sensitivity to the diverse needs and backgrounds of pupils with SEND.
  • Relevant qualifications or training in supporting pupils with SEN (e.g., CACHE Level 3 Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools, SEN Diploma) is desirable.
  • Enhanced DBS clearance (we can assist with this if necessary).
