Are you a patient and caring individual with experience supporting children with additional needs? A welcoming mainstream primary school in West Bromwich is looking for a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to support Key Stage 1 pupils on a 1:1 or small group basis.

You'll be working closely with the class teacher and SENCO to help children access learning, develop their communication skills, and manage behaviour in a nurturing and structured environment. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference in a child's early school journey.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 and group support to KS1 pupils with special educational needs
  • Adapt learning materials and activities to meet children's needs
  • Encourage positive behaviour and emotional regulation
  • Work closely with teaching staff and parents to monitor progress
  • Support with classroom routines and transitions throughout the day

Candidate Requirements:

  • Previous experience supporting children with SEN (ideally in KS1 or EYFS)
  • Calm, resilient, and positive approach
  • Ability to build strong, trusting relationships
