An excellent opportunity for an Experienced Workshop Foreman / Fitter to join a well-established company Based in West Calder.

The Company:

A Scottish based Drilling and Grouting Company, established in 2011, who are at the forefront of Scotland’s drilling industry. They are one of the preferred contractors for major house builders, Environmental, Mining and Geotechnical Consultants and Civil Engineering Companies in Scotland.

About the Role:

Due to the continued growth of the Company, we are pleased to be recruiting for the position of Workshop Foreman/ Fitter. Within this role, the successful candidate will be responsible for various duties relating to our large fleet of multi-functional Drilling Rigs as well as various ancillary equipment. The position will be predominately workshop based, however there will be a requirement for site-based work.

Main duties will include:

  • Co-ordinating the maintenance schedules of the various items of plant and machinery.
  • Conducting regular servicing of plant and equipment in the workshop (site servicing may also be required).
  • Assisting the Plant Maintenance Manager with general duties and supplying holiday cover including supervision of the Fitters and their duties.
  • Ensuring Health and Safety compliance throughout the workshop and surrounding areas.
  • Maintaining plant and equipment records.
  • Assist with telephone requests from Sites and prioritise call outs to breakdowns.

Candidate Requirements.

  • Applicants must be qualified and have a thorough knowledge of Mechanical Engineering, have a background preferably in the field of Piling/ Drilling and have experience of Engine Diagnostics, Hydraulics and Electrical systems.
  • Be competent in the use of computers and applications such as Outlook, Word and Excel for maintaining records and job sheets.
  • Must have previous experience of a Foreman role.

Applicants must also hold:

  • A valid CSCS card (or equivalent).
  • A full UK Driving Licence.

Hourly Rate: Negotiable - dependant on experience.

Benefits: A company van will be provided.
