Are you passionate about working with children in a primary school Tezlom is currently recruiting a School Nurseto work in primary school based in West Drayton.

This is a permanant position during term time, hours will be Monday to Friday 8:30am - 4.30pm.

Key Duties and responsibilities for a School Nurse:

  • Supporting pupils’ ongoing medical needs and providing medical attention as required
  • Give first aid or other medical attention to any pupil, or adult if required, suffering illness or an accident.
  • Where required, arrange for a pupil to attend hospital after first gaining parental permission and accompanying them if needed.
  • Ensure all medicines are stored safely, ensuring they are in date and arranging replacements or safe removal when needed.
  • Ensure all pupils with medical conditions requiring medication, including asthma and anaphylaxis always have the correct medication in school and that this is in date. Contact parents / health care professionals where this is not the case.
  • Administer medicines to pupils according to their care plan or advice from their doctor / parent.
  • Ensure that all professionals and parents are meeting a pupil’s medical needs as detailed on their medical action plan or care plan, raising concerns swiftly and providing advice and support where needed. If needs are not being met despite support and advice, to raise this immediately with the Headteacher.
  • Treat health conditions as they occur with permission from parents as appropriate, including headlice where this is a welfare concern, and the condition is not being treated correctly at home.
  • Support children who require changing, and if needed washing, due to soiling / wetting / vomiting etc.
  • Complete school training on clearing up bodily fluids and be involved in as required.
  • Ensure all first aid boxes across the school are kept fully stocked.
  • Ensure that first aid equipment is provided for school trips.
