Driver Hire Uxbridge is seeking a Van Driver 3.5T for temporary ad-hoc roles in the UB postcode areas including Uxbridge, Greenford, and Southall.
The position offers a pay rate between £12.89 and £15.69 per hour, including holiday pay, with a minimum of 8 hours paid daily and overtime after 9 hours.
Candidates must possess a valid UK CAT B license for at least 2 years, have no more than 6 points, and be over 25 years old for insurance purposes.
At least 1 year of experience as a van driver or in a similar role is preferred, along with excellent communication skills and physical fitness for lifting tasks.
Successful applicants can expect to start work within a week and will be auto-enrolled in a pension plan after 3 months.

Type of shifts for Van Drivers (depending on company):

Multi drop deliveries in and around M25 (up to 20-30 drops only) - B2B deliveries
Car and Van (incl. Sprinter/Luton) Deliveries
Delivering catering equipment, printers, electrical supplies, piping, flooring etc
Builders merchants - tool hire equipment
Shifts are mainly during the week, day shifts, Monday to Friday (occasional weekends)
Start times can vary between 5:30 and 8am

Duties expected of a Van Driver:

Communicate with customers to confirm delivery details and address any concerns or issues
Perform routine vehicle inspections and maintenance, including checking fuel levels, tyre pressure, and fluid levels
Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage, and fuel consumption
Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations

Rates of pay for a Van Driver:

We pay for a minimum of 8 hours a day (breaks are not paid)
Overtime is paid after 9 hours
PAYE between £12.89 and £15.69 per hour (including holiday pay)

Requirements of a Van Driver include:

Valid UK CAT B licence for at least 2 years with no more than 6 points (no DR DD TT IN)
Manual driving licence
You must be over the age of 25 years for insurance purposes
At least 1-year experience as a van driver or in a similar role is preferred (references required)
Physically fit, as some jobs require lifting and shifting
Excellent communication skills to interact with customers and team members
Familiarity with commercial driving regulations and safety standards
