MS544 - Project Manager (Civils)Location: West DraytonSalary: £55,000 - £60,000 + car / Allowance + BenefitsWe are working with one of our prestigious clients in the search for a Project ManagerManaging a team of dedicated staff for the Sewers Crossing Rail Framework. As Principle Contractor you will be expected to oversee the daily management and coordination of high-quality rehabilitation and maintenance work to ensure successful completion of projects and to promote an identity of excellent client service and maximum profitability.Our client encourages applications from former service personnel, however all qualified candidates will be given due consideration.Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Coordinating construction resources across projects and working closely with the Contracts and Operations Manager’s.
  • Manage a range of internal and external key relationships with direct team members, colleagues and clients.
  • Build and encourage cooperative working relationships between colleagues, clients and contractors.
  • Provide information and advice to internal and external contacts.
  • Provide regular feedback to the Contracts Manager regarding progress of works.
  • Provide assistance to the Contracts Manager in the monitoring and management of various contracts.
  • Maintain regular liaison with the client to ensure client expectations are managed and that objectives are being met.
  • Attendance at meetings including site meetings, weekly team meeting and any client or company meetings as required.
  • Ensuring that staff and site operatives complete all the required site documentation.
  • Co-ordinating the plant and delivery/pick up of construction materials as required.
  • Maintaining good relationships with everyone involved on a project.
  • Carrying our regular site audits and searching for discrepancies etc.
  • Implement and manage the programme of works.
  • Contribute to the development of documentation and processes and procedures.
  • Site Scoping Reports.
  • Produce the operational site reports when required.
  • Prepare quotations and value of works when required.
  • Negotiating with and hiring subcontractors and workers.
  • Maintaining high standards of Health and Safety across sites through effective management.
  • Monitor and report upon any health and safety issues or problems and respond appropriately.
  • Undertake regular health and safety audits and complete appropriate returns to the QUENSH team.
  • Supervise team members and ensure they are fully compliant with Company H&S policy and procedures, leading by example.
  • Carry out toolbox talks and site inductions.
  • Providing leadership, direction and guidance to all construction staff.
  • Monitor employee absence, conduct and performance and proactively manage issues in line with Company policy, with the assistance of the HR Department.
  • Ensure that individuals are equipped to perform effectively, and jobs completed as required.
  • Monitor staff working hours and ensure team members' time sheets are accurate and signed off.

Skills and Experiences:

  • Able to travel and work away when required.
  • Can work in adverse outside weather conditions.
  • Superb client facing skills and able to get people on board with a project.
  • Personal commitment to equality and diversity.
  • PTS certified (Desirable).
  • Drainage/Drainage Civil engineering background (Desirable).
