Our client, a global leader in plumbing, heating, and construction solutions, is looking for a talented individual to lead the development and delivery of their Tooling Academy. About the Role – Tooling Academy Lead

As the Tooling Academy Lead, you will be responsible for assessing training needs, developing and delivering training programs, and ensuring the effective delivery of training to toolmakers and apprentices. Your focus will be on improving employee performance, boosting productivity, and building a pipeline of skilled toolmakers for the future.

Responsibilities – Tooling Academy Lead

  • Assess training needs through skills gap analysis, consultations with managers, and knowledge assessments.
  • Design and develop tailored training programs, curricula, and workshops for toolmaking processes and technologies.
  • Coordinate and deliver engaging training to toolmakers and apprentices, ensuring consistent standards and effective delivery.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs and make adjustments to improve outcomes.
  • Manage the training budget, ensuring cost-effective and efficient use of resources.
  • Ensure training programs comply with policies, laws, regulations, and audit requirements.
  • Stay updated with the latest training techniques and incorporate them into the academy’s offerings.
  • Collaborate with other teams and managers to align training with business objectives.
  • Monitor employee performance and provide feedback and support, escalating as needed.

About You – Tooling Academy Lead

  • A relevant Engineering qualification, with practical experience in toolmaking or engineering.
  • Experience in designing and delivering training programs, preferably in the manufacturing or toolmaking industry.
  • Strong knowledge of toolmaking processes such as manual machining (turning, milling, drilling, grinding).
  • Experience with assessing competence and delivering training to meet technical standards.
  • Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills to engage with diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • A proactive approach to continuous improvement and employee development.
  • Desirable qualifications: Level 3 Award in Education and Training, Level 3 Certificate in Assessing Vocational Achievement, or equivalent.
