Nurture Teacher - Hillingdon

We are currently recruiting Nurture Teachers to work in a fantastic school located in the West Drayton area. This role is for an immediate start with the school very keen to take on Nuture Teachers ASAP! These are full-time temporary positions, which if successful candidates could be made permanent. The school are looking for a Nurture Teacher to teach in Year 7 or Year 8 with the ideal candidate for this role being a Qualified Teacher.

The Role:

  • As a Nurture Teacher, you will be required to teach a range of subjects and skills to KS3 students in order that they receive a broad and effective curriculum that will prepare them well for their next stage of education
  • Contribute to the development of a 'Nurture' style approach for KS3 students under the direction of the Principal and the SENCo
  • A Nurture Teacher acts as a form tutor and establish good relationships with families to promote students' learning and development
  • Consistently and accurately assess students' progress and achievement, especially in English, Maths, Science and PSHE
  • Ensure that resources and the classroom environment are organised and readily available to promote learning

Requirements:

  • You must have Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Substantial and recent experience of teaching pupils/students with special needs, including autism, to a high standard
  • Experience of working effectively with young people who present with a range of challenging behaviour
  • Proven ability to demonstrate and lead outstanding classroom practice, including innovative curriculum development and planning
  • Ability to quickly establish relationships with young people, vulnerable people and families with complex needs
