The Role:

Our client, a premier provider of advanced injection-molded packaging solutions for consumer goods, healthcare, and industrial sectors worldwide are seeking Automation Engineers to join their dynamic and progressive team. The role involves supporting the effective operation of manufacturing facilities by procuring new automation and ensuring the functionality of all automation systems. Responsibilities include contributing to design efforts, overseeing installation processes, and completing the qualification of new automation systems.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the procurement and design of automation systems.
  • Support automation projects for locations in Europe as needed, based in Longford.
  • Develop technical feasibility plans for assembly and decoration processes.
  • Serve as the primary technical contact with customers on new projects, representing TM as the automation expert.
  • Prepare quotations for new automation work cells as required.
  • Evaluate and qualify new automation vendors on a global scale.
  • Identify and present cost-saving opportunities related to automation to management regularly.
  • Enhance and maintain all existing automation machines.
  • Coordinate automation activities with external suppliers.
  • Approve designs of new automation machines.
  • Ensure construction timelines align with production schedule requirements for new automation machines.
  • Manage procurement processes, including issuing purchase orders for automation projects with suppliers.
  • Assist in production start-ups involving automation machines.
  • Aid in troubleshooting both new and existing automation machines.
  • Contribute to continual improvement initiatives for automation machines within the European division.
  • Assist other divisions with various automation projects as necessary.

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Hold a degree in engineering or possess a combination of relevant education, skills, and experience.
  • Possess general knowledge of machining, part design, CAD, injection molding, and manufacturing operations.
  • Demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Have basic knowledge of computer and control systems.
  • Exhibit a solid mechanical and electrical aptitude.
