Logistics Supervisor

  • Role - Logistics Supervisor
  • Location- Heathrow
  • Shifts - Monday to Friday 20.00pm to 4.30am
  • Hours -40 per week
  • Pay: £21.45 per hour

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supervise and direct a variety of site works including site logistics, soft strip, erection of hoardings, strip call offs or other duties as directed by the site manager
  • Ensure site attendance is documented daily and setting team to work safely
  • Take full responsibility for staff under jurisdiction
  • Carry out site inspections using dedicated forms and ITPs including fire point and hoarding checks
  • Full awareness and understanding of all site documents
  • Deal with and resolve technical and staff issues as they arise
  • Formally report progress, problems and issues to management
  • Undertake works as well as supervising them
  • Ensure compliance with Method Statements and Risk Assessments and that they are read and understood by staff before a task is undertaken and constant review of RAMS to ensure suitability to the task assigned
  • Ensure a clean and tidy site at all times and conduct daily site setup safety checks
  • Understand, practice and ensure compliance with Health & Safety standards on site
  • Undertake toolbox talks and staff briefings (DABS / NABS)
  • Attend site/company meetings as required
  • Input into continual improvement programmes
  • Liaise with managers, customers, contractors, suppliers and others to discuss and resolve matters such as work procedures, problems and solutions

SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS

  • Experience of supervising construction/logistics projects and teams
  • Experience of working within an airport environment
  • Strong understanding of managing Health & Safety on construction sites
  • Excellent Organisational, Communication and Interpersonal Skills
  • Ability to work to deadlines and under pressure with conflicting deadlines
  • First Aid Certificate (three day)
  • Fire Warden (desired, can be provided training to achieve)
  • CSCS Card (Gold)
  • SMSTS
  • Developing management skills
