My client based in West Drayton is dedicated to helping students with Special Educational Needs and/or social, emotional, and mental health challenges who are at risk of exclusion from mainstream education are seeking a Facilities Assistant to join their team. My client caters to students aged 5 to 19 years and are committed to fostering, nurturing an inclusive environment where every student has the opportunity to thrive.

They are seeking a dedicated Facilities Team Member to join their busy Facilities Team. In this role, you will be responsible for a variety of duties, including driving students and staff, and sharing responsibility for health and safety, security, services, maintenance, repairs, porterage, and managing contractors.

Temporary Position for 6 months initially.

Start Date: 2nd December 2024

Working Hours:

  • Monday – Thursday: 7.45am - 4pm
  • Friday: 7.45am – 3.45pm
  • 30-minute unpaid lunch break each day

Salary:

  • Hourly rate: £14.84 - £16.75 per hour (equivalent to £27,849 - £31,438 per annum) depending on experience.
  • Potential pay rise after 12 weeks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive students and staff as needed
  • Ensure health and safety standards are maintained
  • Oversee security measures within the school premises
  • Manage services, maintenance, and repairs
  • Handle porterage duties
  • Coordinate with and oversee contractors

Qualifications:

  • Clean, valid D1 driving licence (essential)
  • MIDAS certification (desirable, but training can be provided)

Skills and Experience:

  • Patience and empathy, with a strong desire to work with students who have additional needs
  • Previous experience working with students with Special Educational Needs is highly desirable
  • Knowledge of school safeguarding practices is desirable
