Teacher/HLTA

We are seeking a dedicated Teacher/HLTA to provide 1:1 tuition at a co-educational Alternative Provision in Hillingdon. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about teaching Maths and English to students aged 11-16, focusing on functional skills and GCSE preparation. The successful candidate will also be experienced in driving reading strategies for KS3 and KS4.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Provide tailored 1:1 tuition to students in Maths and English, ensuring alignment with functional skills and GCSE requirements.
  • Implement effective reading strategies to enhance literacy skills at KS3 and KS4 levels.
  • Assess student progress regularly and adapt teaching methods to meet individual needs.
  • Collaborate with other staff members to plan and coordinate educational activities.
  • Maintain accurate records of student performance and provide feedback to students and parents/guardians.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Proven experience in teaching Maths and English, particularly at the functional skills or GCSE level.
  • Strong background in developing and implementing reading strategies for secondary education.
  • Ability to engage and motivate students who may have diverse educational needs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Qualifications appropriate for a Teacher or HLTA role.
