About the role:

  • Facilitate practical, hands-on experiences that encourage students to experiment, innovate, and develop their design skills.
  • Design and implement an engaging DT curriculum that aligns with educational standards and fosters creativity.
  • Maintain and organize tools, equipment, and materials to create an effective and efficient learning environment.
  • Ensure a safe working environment by teaching the proper use of tools and enforcing safety protocols.
  • Cultivate a classroom culture that celebrates creativity and critical thinking, empowering students to express their ideas confidently.
  • Promote a supportive atmosphere that values the well-being of both students and staff, encouraging open communication and collaboration.

The ideal candidate must:

  • Have the right to work within the UK
  • Have experience working within a classroom
  • DBS registered on the update system or willing to purchase one
  • Be comfortable and adaptable working in different environments
  • Strong knowledge of the Design Technology curriculum.
  • Have strong classroom management skills.
  • A QTS or PGCE or overseas trained teacher to UK equivalent
  • Marking and planning are compulsory with this role
