About the role:
- Facilitate practical, hands-on experiences that encourage students to experiment, innovate, and develop their design skills.
- Design and implement an engaging DT curriculum that aligns with educational standards and fosters creativity.
- Maintain and organize tools, equipment, and materials to create an effective and efficient learning environment.
- Ensure a safe working environment by teaching the proper use of tools and enforcing safety protocols.
- Cultivate a classroom culture that celebrates creativity and critical thinking, empowering students to express their ideas confidently.
- Promote a supportive atmosphere that values the well-being of both students and staff, encouraging open communication and collaboration.
The ideal candidate must:
- Have the right to work within the UK
- Have experience working within a classroom
- DBS registered on the update system or willing to purchase one
- Be comfortable and adaptable working in different environments
- Strong knowledge of the Design Technology curriculum.
- Have strong classroom management skills.
- A QTS or PGCE or overseas trained teacher to UK equivalent
- Marking and planning are compulsory with this role
