We are currently recruiting for a SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) School in West Drayton, who are looking for an experienced IT Teacher to teach and teach KS3 and KS4 students.  The School are passionate about providing a supportive and inclusive environment for children with SEMH needs and challenging behaviours. This is a School where every child is valued, and their emotional and educational needs are met with understanding, patience, and care. The School are looking for someone who shares these values.

This is a full-time, permanent role to start as soon as possible. The salary will be equal to the main Teachers pay scale plus SEN points.

As an IT Teacher, you will be responsible for planning, developing, and delivering high-quality lessons that address the social, emotional, and academic needs of students in the nurture group.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop a holistic approach to meeting Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs, enabling learners to make good progress by working with other teachers, support staff and families.
  • Develop and deliver a creative and engaging curriculum tailored to the individual needs of students with SEMH.
  • Create a nurturing classroom environment that supports the emotional and social development of each student.
  • Work closely with a multidisciplinary team, including therapists, support staff, and parents, to develop and implement individualised education plans (IEPs).
  • Use positive behaviour management strategies to support students' emotional regulation and encourage positive behaviour.
  • Monitor and assess students' progress.

 

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Experience working with children with SEMH needs in a school setting.
  • Strong understanding of child development, SEMH issues, and appropriate interventions.
  • Be aware of and comply with policies and procedures relating to child protection, health, safety and security, confidentiality and data protection.
