Role Description

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Speech and Language Therapist (SLT) to support autistic learners in developing their communication, social interaction, and emotional regulation skills. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of autism and expertise in the SCERTS Framework (Social Communication, Emotional Regulation, and Transactional Support).

Key Requirements

Qualifications: Degree in Speech and Language Therapy (or equivalent), HCPC registration (if in the UK), or relevant licensure.

Experience: Prior experience working with autistic learners in educational or clinical settings.

Essential Knowledge:

  • SCERTS Framework and its application in therapy.
  • Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) and evidence-based communication strategies.
  • AAC (PECS, Makaton, speech-generating devices, etc.).
  • Sensory processing and its impact on communication.
  • Strong teamwork, empathy, and problem-solving skills.
  • Understanding of EHC Plans.
