About the role:

  • Develop and deliver engaging lessons in Food Technology that align with curriculum standards and cater to diverse learning needs.
  • Create detailed lesson plans that incorporate hands-on activities, ensuring a balanced approach to theory and practice.
  • Foster a passion for food science and culinary skills through interactive lessons and exciting projects.
  • Organize and maintain kitchen facilities and equipment, ensuring a safe and well-prepared environment for practical lessons.
  • Build meaningful relationships with students, offering guidance and encouragement to help them reach their full potential.
  • Ensure all food preparation and cooking activities adhere to health and safety regulations, promoting a safe learning environment.

The ideal candidate must:

  • Have the right to work within the UK
  • Have experience working within a classroom
  • DBS registered on the update system or willing to purchase one
  • Be comfortable and adaptable working in different environments
  • Good subject knowledge of DT curriculum
  • Have strong classroom management skills.
  • A QTS or PGCE or overseas trained teacher to UK equivalent
  • Marking and planning are compulsory with this role
