A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Lead Building Services Engineer to join a prestigious commercial site in Central London. This is a day shift, static role working for a leading FM service provider, responsible for overseeing a small on-site engineering team and ensuring the smooth running of all technical services across the building.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of engineers on-site, ensuring PPM and reactive maintenance tasks are carried out efficiently and safely.

  • Act as the first point of contact for technical issues and client liaison.

  • Maintain and manage electrical and mechanical systems, including lighting, power, HVAC, AHUs/FCUs, pumps, and plumbing.

  • Carry out hands-on maintenance duties as required and support the wider team.

  • Plan, delegate, and close out PPMs and reactive works, ensuring all documentation is completed.

  • Assist in the management of subcontractors and specialist service providers.

  • Conduct regular toolbox talks, team briefs, and site audits.

  • Ensure all works are completed in line with health & safety standards and building compliance.

  • Support in client meetings, reporting on performance, and presenting solutions to issues.



Requirements:

  • Level 2/3 qualification in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (City & Guilds or equivalent).

  • 18th Edition (if electrical bias) desirable.

  • Proven experience in a lead or supervisory engineering role in a commercial building environment.

  • Strong understanding of building services systems - both electrical and mechanical.

  • Ability to lead, motivate, and support a team effectively.

  • Excellent communication, client-facing, and organisation skills.
