As part of the growth of the business The Waterside Hotel and Spa is seeking a General Manager as a senior role within SimpsInns which involves overseeing the entire Hotel & Spa facilities.
The hotel is currently undergoing an exciting and significant development incorporating an additional 17 bedrooms plus large spa including treatments rooms, thermal and infinity experiences.
The General manager's role will ensure sure their part of the SimpsInns organisation is running as well as it possibly can, with a smooth efficient service that meets the expectations and needs of guests and clients. The General Manager will report to the Operations Director
Key areas of responsibility:-
- Managing the day to day running of the business within SimpsInns
- Setting sales targets
- Managing all streams of Guest feedback
- Maximising sales and profitability in all departments
- Providing team with a stimulating and supportive environment
- Maintaining and increasing standards of guest service
- Driving team performance
- Controlling the training and development of your staff
Through the effective use of company documentation ensure that all relevant control procedures are in place to deliver accurate records in all areas of the operational business
To achieve budget sales and achieve the agreed targets on Gross Profit and wage budgets.
To ensure teams are aware of their responsibilities in respect of health and safety in the workplace and have the minimum qualifications and training to work in a kitchen environment
To ensure that the company food hygiene management system is adhered to and fully understood by all the teams and that the company control procedures in respect of food production, portion control and stock management are fully implemented
To undertake regular audits of all areas eg Finance/stocks for food and drink/ weekly managers checklist are complete and actioned to ensure complete adherence to agreed company standards
Develop a relationship with the senior teams within Hotel & Spa facilities and other SimpsInns venues
To ensure all new starters receive a thorough induction and are given all the initial help they need to achieve the required standards in their new job
Support all members of the teams to reach their full potential and give them the opportunity to develop their career
To conduct 6 monthly performance reviews with the Management team offering training and coaching when necessary. Have an annual appraisal
To ensure effective channels of communication at all levels so every member of the team are aware of the objectives and the part they play in its delivery
To schedule team meetings as required and contribute to the development and growth of the business through the sharing of good practice and your own experiences
To support SimpsInns Executive Chef in the development of our food offering to guests
Planning and controlling change
Researching alternative methods of efficiency

Pay: £45,000.00-£50,000.00 per year
