21 Health and Social Care is delighted to be recruiting for passionate and dedicated Residential Care Support Workers on behalf of Garvald West Linton. As a Residential Care Support Worker, you will play a vital role in ensuring the physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being of residents, empowering them to lead fulfilling lives and participate in the cultural, creative, and social life of the community.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver Person-Centred Support: Build positive, trusting relationships with residents using a person-centred approach that respects individuality, dignity, and choice.
- Daily Living Support: Assist residents with all aspects of daily living, including personal care, meal preparation, mobility, and administering medication, while promoting independence wherever possible.
- Activity Facilitation: Support residents to engage in meaningful activities within Garvald’s workshops (crafts, bakery, garden, estate, and weavery) and participate in cultural festivals, events, and activities in the wider community.
- Health and Well-being: Monitor residents for signs of discomfort or ill health, accompany them to medical appointments, and ensure their safety and mobility needs are met.
- Team Collaboration: Actively contribute to a positive team environment by participating in daily handovers, team meetings, and supervision sessions.
- Safeguarding: Follow organisational policies and procedures to protect residents from harm, reporting any concerns or incidents in line with Care Inspectorate and SSSC standards.
Experience and Qualifications:
- Experience in a care setting or working with individuals with learning disabilities (preferred but not essential).
- A compassionate, empathetic, and solution-focused attitude.
- Full driving licence and willingness to drive own or company vehicles.
- A commitment to achieving relevant qualifications for SSSC registration, if not already held (SVQ 2 in Health and Social Care).
