A highly reputable and growing accountancy practice is seeking a qualified Accountant to join their team on a full-time, permanent basis. This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated professional to take on a key role with the potential to grow into a Director position.

Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:45am - 4:45pm (35 hours per week)

The Opportunity:

As an Accounts Manager, you’ll play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality accountancy and tax advice to a diverse client base. You’ll work directly with the Director and take ownership of client relationships, management accounts, tax returns, and staff training.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Be the primary contact for clients, providing expert accountancy and tax support.
  • Prepare and review quarterly VAT returns, management accounts, year-end accounts, and account reconciliations.
  • Attend client meetings, conduct research, and lead ongoing communications.
  • Liaise with HMRC and Companies House regarding client matters.
  • Draft correspondence and documentation in line with company branding.
  • Mentor and manage an Accounts Senior, supporting their development.
  • Conduct financial forecasting and analysis, offering insights and recommendations.
  • Oversee the tax compliance process, including collating, preparing, reviewing, and submitting personal and corporate tax returns.

What We’re Looking For:

  • ACCA or ACA qualified.
  • 3+ years of experience in an accountancy practice.
  • Strong understanding of corporation and personal tax.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., CCH, Xero) and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Exceptional organisation and time management abilities.
  • Proactive and confident working independently and within a team.
  • Full UK driving licence.
