Payroll Team Leader

As the Payroll Team Leader, you will be responsible for leading the payroll team in the day-to-day payroll operations, ensuring the accurate and efficient processing of payroll for all employees. This role requires someone who is detail-oriented, proactive, and experienced in managing payroll processes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and lead a team of payroll administrators, providing guidance, training, and support.
  • Oversee the accurate and timely processing of payroll, including salary, overtime, bonuses, deductions, and benefits.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, payroll regulations, and statutory requirements.
  • Manage payroll data entry, calculations, and reconciliation, ensuring all information is up-to-date and accurate.
  • Handle complex payroll queries and escalations, providing solutions and ensuring employee satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with HR and Finance departments to maintain employee records and resolve payroll discrepancies.
  • Assist in the preparation of payroll reports for management and support internal/external audits.
  • Implement process improvements to enhance payroll efficiency and accuracy.
  • Stay updated on payroll legislation and ensure the team adheres to changes in tax laws and regulations.
Qualifications & Experience:
  • A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in payroll administration, with at least 1-2 years in a supervisory/leadership role.
  • Strong knowledge of payroll systems (e.g., ADP, Workday, Sage) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Solid understanding of payroll processes, tax laws, and statutory requirements.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to mentor and develop a team.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to handle sensitive information confidentially.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) or equivalent certification is an advantage.
