Senior Quantity Surveyor - Highways & Civil Works - West Malling

Are you a highly experienced and commercially astute Senior Quantity Surveyor with a passion for delivering successful highways and civil engineering projects?

We are seeking a motivated and driven individual to join our team in West Malling, working on a range of exciting and challenging projects involving highway improvements and associated civil works.

About the Role:

As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will play a key role in the successful financial management and delivery of our projects. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing commercial leadership and guidance on projects, ensuring cost-effective delivery within budget.
  • Developing and maintaining detailed cost plans, estimates, and budgets.
  • Managing and negotiating contracts with sub-contractors and suppliers.
  • Monitoring project costs and identifying potential cost overruns.
  • Implementing effective cost control measures.
  • Preparing and analyzing cost reports and providing regular updates to the project team and stakeholders.
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant contractual and legal requirements.


About You:

  • Proven experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor on large-scale highways or infrastructure projects.
  • Strong understanding of highway construction and associated civil works, including earthworks, drainage, and pavement construction.
  • Excellent commercial acumen and negotiation skills.
  • Proficient in cost management software and tools (e.g., CostX, Asite).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • A relevant degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field.
  • Membership of a relevant professional body (e.g. RICS) is desirable.
