Cedar is currently partnering with a Private Equity-backed manufacturing business to recruit a Senior Accountant for an initial 3-month contract paying a day rate of (Apply online only).

The Role

As Senior Accountant, you will manage all UK finance operations, ensuring deadlines are met with precision and efficiency. Reporting to the Global Financial Controller, your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading all UK finance functions, including Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), Banking, Inventory (in collaboration with FP&A), and Payroll.
  • Ensuring accurate and timely P&L and Balance Sheet reporting for the UK entity.
  • Managing the month-end and year-end close processes, including UK audit fieldwork.
  • Overseeing all monthly financial transactions, ensuring accuracy in journals, accruals, and prepayments.
  • Completing balance sheet reconciliations and delivering management accounts with commentary to senior stakeholders.
  • Ensuring compliance with VAT and other regulatory submissions while managing cash flow and weekly 13-week forecasts.
  • Collaborating on budgets and re-forecasts while identifying opportunities for process improvements to support business growth.

Your Profile

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A formal accountancy qualification (e.g., ACA/CIMA/CA).
  • A proactive approach to improving financial processes and ensuring compliance.
  • Experience working with a manufacturing business would be useful, but not necessary.
