HSE & Quality Manager

The Company

A leading provider in the car park management industry, specializing in bespoke, innovative solutions to meet client requirements. Due to ongoing expansion, we are looking for an energetic individual to manage our Health, Safety, and Environmental activities, as well as lead ISO 9001, 14001, and 45001 accreditations. The successful candidate will integrate HSE into our daily operations and build on existing HSE policies, processes, and risk assessments.

You will be responsible for ensuring compliance with statutory HSE obligations while driving forward environmental and sustainability goals.

Roles & Responsibilities

In this role, you will take charge of all aspects of Health, Safety, Environment (HS&E), and Quality strategies. You will implement, manage, and monitor standards, processes, communications, and culture change programs to ensure that all HSE-related responsibilities are consistently adhered to across the business.

Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, you will have the support of the Facilities Coordinator in this role.

  • Ensure that all HSE policies, procedures, rules, and regulations are followed and reviewed regularly.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory HSE obligations, including mandatory training, reporting, and emergency procedures.
  • Maintain and update relevant HSE records.
  • Conduct regular reviews of risk assessments, including for work equipment, plant, and operations.
  • Investigate and document all incidents, accidents, and near misses, ensuring corrective actions are taken.
  • Produce necessary HSE reports.
  • Lead efforts to foster a positive HSE culture across the organization.
  • Develop and update HSE policies, standards, and procedures.
  • Implement and oversee a program of HSE inspections, management system audits, and due diligence audits.
  • Stay informed of relevant HSE legislation and communicate important changes to the organization.
  • Collaborate with Directors, Managers, and employees to communicate HSE strategies and requirements.
  • Lead HSE meetings and ensure all employees are informed about relevant matters.
  • Liaise with external consultants, suppliers, customers, insurers, authorities, and legal advisors as needed.
  • Travel to offices and sites as required, potentially staying overnight when necessary.
  • Support operations teams in addressing all HSE-related concerns.
  • Work closely with HR on incident management and strategies to reduce occurrences.
  • Assist the business in continuity and emergency planning, as required.

Experience & Skills Required

  • Significant experience in managing HSE within previous roles.
  • NEBOSH Certificate.
  • Ideally working towards or holding a Health & Safety/HSE Diploma.
  • Experience in managing and participating in ISO audits across the company.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Proficiency in collecting, analyzing HSE data, and implementing improvement programs.
  • Approachable and able to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization.
  • A self-starter with the ability to work independently and remotely.
  • A full driving license.
