Our client, a prominent player in the Defence & Security sector, is currently seeking a dedicated Logistics Operator to join their team in High Wycombe. This permanent role is vital to ensuring the efficient management of materials and stock control within a highly secure and regulated environment.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Receiving deliveries from suppliers and other sources, ensuring the correctness of goods and accurately booking them into the system
  • Determining inspection requirements and decanting goods when necessary
  • Creating labels for each package in the consignment and moving them to the relevant next step
  • Scanning documents into the system to maintain a digital record of paperwork
  • Informing the recipient that goods have arrived and should be collected from Goods In where applicable
  • Locating receipts in the correct location and updating the system with the new location
  • Picking shop orders, sales orders, customer orders, shortages, and material requisitions, and passing to production ready for build according to the production schedule
  • Performing daily cycle counting of inventory and submitting any adjustments to finance for approval within the system
  • To liaise with stores lead to request and send stock from offsite storage
  • Loading and unloading vehicles as required, providing an efficient service to both incoming and outgoing deliveries
  • Maintaining cleanliness and order in the stores and surrounding area to promote good health and safety practices
  • Packing deliveries and shipments to the correct standard as specified within the contract, advising commercial once the parts are packed, and providing dimensions and weights of each parcel
  • Picking, collating, and packing items for dispatch, ensuring adherence to all relevant procedures and processes
  • Handling queries from various departments relating to the stores department
  • Working within the Goods Inward, dispatch, and stores areas to undertake all tasks in a timely and accurate manner
  • Working cross-functionally between sites as required
  • Performing daily checks on the forklift and documenting findings
  • Observing and practising all health and safety processes and guidelines at all times


Job Requirements:

  • Experience of working within a Warehouse or Stores environment
  • Experience in stock counting
  • Strong numerical proficiency and use of data
  • Good understanding and use of computers and Office suite
  • Physically fit and capable of moving boxes and items by hand, as well as climbing steps/ladders
  • Forklift licence preferable, or willingness to learn
  • DGN trained ideal but not essential
  • Full clean UK driver's licence
