About the Role

As a Band 6 Children's Community Nurse, you will:

  • Provide high-quality, personalised care to children and young people with acute or chronic health conditions.
  • Develop and implement tailored care plans in collaboration with families and healthcare professionals.
  • Deliver treatments, administer medications, and conduct interventions in line with clinical guidelines.
  • Educate families to promote child development and well-being.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including GPs, schools, social services, and specialists.
  • Manage caseloads efficiently, ensuring patient safety and timely care.
  • Maintain precise and up-to-date clinical records.
  • Offer expert advice to families, guiding them through specific conditions and NHS services.
  • Participate in clinical audits and initiatives to enhance service quality.

What We’re Looking For

Essential:

  • Registered Nurse (Child) with NMC Registration.
  • Minimum 1 years’ experience as a Band 5/6 in pediatric or community settings.
  • Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills.
  • Comprehensive understanding of safeguarding protocols and their application.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a supportive team.
  • Full UK driving license and access to a vehicle for community visits.

Desirable:

  • Experience with long-term conditions, palliative care, or managing complex needs.
  • Training in IV therapy, wound care, or related clinical skills.
  • Familiarity with NHS systems and electronic patient record management.
