About the Role
As a Band 6 Children's Community Nurse, you will:
- Provide high-quality, personalised care to children and young people with acute or chronic health conditions.
- Develop and implement tailored care plans in collaboration with families and healthcare professionals.
- Deliver treatments, administer medications, and conduct interventions in line with clinical guidelines.
- Educate families to promote child development and well-being.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including GPs, schools, social services, and specialists.
- Manage caseloads efficiently, ensuring patient safety and timely care.
- Maintain precise and up-to-date clinical records.
- Offer expert advice to families, guiding them through specific conditions and NHS services.
- Participate in clinical audits and initiatives to enhance service quality.
What We’re Looking For
Essential:
- Registered Nurse (Child) with NMC Registration.
- Minimum 1 years’ experience as a Band 5/6 in pediatric or community settings.
- Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills.
- Comprehensive understanding of safeguarding protocols and their application.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a supportive team.
- Full UK driving license and access to a vehicle for community visits.
Desirable:
- Experience with long-term conditions, palliative care, or managing complex needs.
- Training in IV therapy, wound care, or related clinical skills.
- Familiarity with NHS systems and electronic patient record management.
