If you are an experienced engineering manager with a background working in a precision engineering/CNC machine shop environment, then this could be the new opportunity you have been looking for!Reed Engineering are partnering with a Wiltshire based SME who are looking to appoint a General Manager to drive the business forward and oversea operational success across different teams.The company work with a range of clients in different industry sectors so this role would give you the opportunity to work with some interesting and varied products with the opportunity to grow and develop the business using your technical and operational experience.Ideally you will have a background working within precision engineering with a good understand of CNC machinery and machine shop equipment combined with a strong operational management background including team management, commercial acumen and strategic planning skills.You will report directly to the managing director and be given the autonomy to use your skills and experience to lead and improve cross functional teams across engineering, production, purchasing and technical sales .For full details on this great opportunity please apply online and we will be in touch to discuss further.

Responsibilities

Operational management of cross functional teams including Engineering, Quality, Product Assembly, Stores, and Despatch departments.Leading the strategic planning and development of the Engineering department.Oversee all aspects of production and product assembly, ensuring adherence to company processes and procedures.Drive Engineering Sales by marketing and promoting the company capabilities.Manage work planning, capability, and resource allocation within the engineering and product assembly teams.Provide final approval and sign-off on methodology changes, machine replacements, and provisioning of tooling and fixturing.Approve designs of components and parts, supervise the creation of supporting drawings for engineering programming and production.Develop and train staff across the business. Manage staff recruitment, induction, training, and development, including performance reviews and salary recommendations.

Skills and Experience 

Operational management experience within an engineering businessBackground in CNC machine shop and precision engineeringProficient in machine tooling processes and CAD/CAM software.Experience in product assembly and subcontracted machined part production.Strong understanding of COSHH, Health & Safety requirements, and Risk Analysis in an engineering environment.Excellent communication skills, capable of effective interaction at all business levels.Knowledgeable in Engineering Sales, Project Management, and staff development.IT literate, particularly in CAD software.To find out more about this fantastic opportunity please apply online and we will be in touch!
