Are you a passionate English Teacher looking for a rewarding role in a specialist SEN setting? We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established independent school in Westbury that provides a supportive, nurturing environment for students aged 11-16 with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

The school offers small group and individualised learning, ensuring each students receives the attention and support they need. The school’s approach is underpinned by Thrivetherapeutic principles, helping students develop emotionally and socially, as well as academically.

The role:

As an English Teacher, you will:

  • Lead subject teaching to help students develop their knowledge and skills in English
  • Deliver a motivational and progressive curriculum tailored to individual learning needs
  • Work closely with the Headteacher and Leadership Team to ensure a well-structured, sequenced curriculum
  • Monitor student progress, adapting teaching strategies and providing targeted interventions
  • Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils to support their academic development

The ideal candidate:

  • Qualified Teacher (QTS/QTLS/PGCE) preferred, but other teaching qualifications will be considered
  • Proven experience teaching English at secondary level
  • Experience working within a SEN or SEMH setting
  • Ability to plan and deliver engaging lessons using a range of teaching methods
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (as you may need to transport pupils)
