Direct Response Employment Services are working with our established client in Westbury in the recruitment of a HGV Vehicle Technician to join the team on a permanent basis.

As a Vehicle Technician you will effectively inspect, service and maintain the clients fleet pf trucks and trailers which service deliveries from Wiltshire and Oxfordshire.

Key Duties:

  • Servicing and inspecting all trailers on a rotational basis.
  • MOT completion.
  • Repairing of trailer fleet and minor repairs to the trucks.
  • Fill out & rectify Defects Trailers & minor Defects on Trucks.
  • Being part of the call out rota Monday to Friday.
  • Completion of all required paperwork to ensure records are kept accurate & up to date.
  • To fully understand the importance of safe working practices and procedures.
  • Co-operate in the continuous improvement of quality, safety and productivity standards.
  • Ensure that the Health and Safety Policies, Standard Operating Procedures are properly managed and always adhered to.
  • Ensure that delivery of agreed SLA standards is maintained where appropriate.
  • Other duties within the general scope of the post may be required from time to time.

This is a hands-on role and involves a number of manual processes including lifting equipment in the region of 25kgs.

Skills and Experience:

  • Equivalent of City & Guilds Motor Vehicle Engineering.
  • HGV Class 1.
  • Good level of communication and numeracy.
  • Good communication skills specifically at driver level.
  • High level of organisation skills.

Desirable

  • FLT Licence.
  • Previous experience or knowledge in poultry or agriculture.
  • Bulk Blowing Trailer experience.
  • Basic welding.

This role is working Monday to Friday between the hours of 7am to 5pm with a salary of 18.50 per hour. There will also be a Rota for call out during the week.

Overtime available along with training and development from day one.
