Our client is a long established accountancy practice based in the Chalkwell area of Westcliff on sea.

They are desperately seeking a Semi Senior Accountant to join the company

The Opportunity

We are looking for a forward-thinking professional who’s excited about adopting new technology, streamlining processes, and delivering excellent client service. This role offers a chance to be a key player in the ongoing evolution of our firm.

As a vital member of our close-knit team, you will work alongside the client manager to provide top-notch service to our clients. You will be interacting with clients from day one, and as you grow with us, you will potentially have the opportunity to manage your own portfolio of clients.

Responsibilities

Your typical day may include:

  • Collaborating with your team to manage workloads and meet deadlines
  • Preparing accounts and tax returns for senior/director review
  • Preparing VAT returns
  • Preparing management accounts
  • Assisting in the training and support of junior team members
  • Assisting clients with QuickBooks setup, training and support
  • Being on hand to assist clients with general day-to-day queries
  • Bringing new ideas to modernise our processes and elevate the client experience

What We’re Looking For

We value cultural fit and alignment with our values as much as skills. However, the ideal candidate must have the following experience:

  • Proficiency in QuickBooks Online (or similar)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365, particularly Excel
  • Familiarity with accounting software, preferably TaxCalc
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Three years’ experience working in an accountancy firm
  • AAT qualified, part-qualified ACCA, CIMA, ACA, or qualified by experience. Training cost support may be available.
