Salary: £35-45k depending on experience

Our client is a leading designer and manufacturer of a range of high-end modern showers and related bathroom fittings. In this role you will support and supplement the NPD & CPD teams by managing and maintaining laboratory equipment (including calibration) and test rigs, performing/supporting Design Verification Testing (DVT), as well as supporting other design and development activities.

Main responsibilities:

75% or more:

Manage & maintain the lab equipment & test rigs including calibration.

Design & build of R&D test rigs.

Fix things that you can see need fixing.

Identify problems and find solutions.

25% or less:

Support the development of in-house tests to suit varying criteria.

Testing/evaluation of products to relevant internal & external standards as required.

Support warranty/audit testing as required.

Provide feedback on test results & any issues encountered, and work with other departments to offer an opinion on product suitability.

Assist with creation & maintenance of DVT test templates.

Assist with basic modifications/machining of prototypes in house.

Skills & Experience:

Relevant Engineering qualification to HND level or above.

Proven track record in product testing & rig maintenance.

Practical experience of using workshop equipment such as lathes/mills etc.

Ability to build prototypes and test products in the lab.

Basic understanding of 2D technical drawings

An affinity for engineering with a desire to understand how things work.

Good understanding of test procedures & equipment.

IT skills including Excel & Word.

Plumbing skills desirable.

Basic electrical safety & wiring skills.

High standards on quality, responsive to teams around them.

Effective communication skills. Ensure timely sharing of information.
