Assistant Commodities Trader

Located in West Kent our client is actively recruiting for a position within the renewables sector. As they expand their operations, they seek a motivated individual to join their team. This role offers the opportunity to be part of a dynamic team dedicated to driving sustainable solutions in metal recycling.

This exciting and varied role is:

  • Office-based (potential for hybrid working)
  • Offers opportunities for overseas travel required after a period of training

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Playing an integral role in the recycling team, facilitating the purchase and sale of metal-containing secondaries and other materials globally.
  • Establishing and nurturing existing relationships while actively seeking out new partnerships.
  • Engaging with companies across various industries globally, fostering connections and exploring opportunities.
  • Attending trade exhibitions and industry events.
  • Managing purchase and sales contracts, oversee shipments, and preparing profit and loss statements.
  • Collaborating closely with logistics and operations teams to ensure seamless trade processing.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Experience in oil, gas, petrochemicals, catalyst production, global freight forwarding, or trading.
  • Familiarity with LME metals and FastMarkets publications preferred but not essential.
  • Understanding of Incoterms and containerization/logistics operations desirable.
  • Fluency in another language advantageous.
