This role is term time only and a FTC for 3 months, however has the potential to be extended further and into a permanent position.

As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in enhancing the educational experience by supporting students to achieve their full potential. In this role, you will contribute to improving learner engagement, motivation, and progression while helping to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.

As a member of the team, you will work closely with teachers to support students both individually and in small groups. Your role will focus on helping students stay on task, providing additional support for those with behavioural or special educational needs, and ensuring they complete activities designed to meet their learning objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support individual students and small groups to stay on task and complete activities set by the teacher.
  • Address behavioural and special needs concerns in collaboration with the teacher.
  • Assist in implementing lesson plans, objectives, and content as directed by the teacher.
  • Provide feedback to students independently, without referring to the teacher.
  • Lead small groups for specific activities or lessons.

Qualifications

  • Essential:A minimum of Level 2 qualification in English and Maths.
  • Desirable:A relevant professional Teaching Assistant qualification (NVQ Level 2), Higher-Level Teaching Assistant (HTLA) qualification.
