Learning support assistant required in Newham for an immediate start!

Are you compassionate and caring with the ability to engage and encourage learning in a Resourced Provision setting within a Primary school?

Do you have an interest in working with SEND children (Nursery to Year 6)?

This is a long-term position that has an immediate start date. The working hours for the role are 8:30am –3:45pm

Job responsibilities:

In this role, your main responsibilities will be:

  • Supporting children on a 1-1 basis
  • Be willing to provide additional support for toileting and personal care
  • Be willing to work with non-verbal students who can be challenging
  • Have the ability to engage children and help them in promoting self care and independence.
  • Supporting them with indoor and outdoor activities.

The successful candidate will have:

  • Experience working within schools, preferably as a Learning Support Assistant
  • A background in providing personal care for adults or children
  • Strong behaviour management skills
  • Patience and a calm demeanour at all times
  • Flexibility
