Management Accountant - Weston-Super-Mare
Trial Balance Consulting are delighted to have been engaged by a new client, a well-established multi-site retail services business. The company urgently seek to recruit an experienced Management Accountant. This is a full time, permanent position to be based in Weston-Super-Mare.
The company has experienced significant growth over recent years and now operates several trading sites across the Southwest, employing approximately 300 staff. The finance function has undergone significant expansion as a result and the company is keen to develop a modern, efficient function as the department continues to expand.
The successful candidate will, supported by an experienced CFO and Financial Controller, play a key role in managing multi-site accounting and take a lead responsibility in:
- Production of monthly and quarterly management accounts with accompanying commentary for the senior management team
- Mentoring and development of junior colleagues
- Project costings
- Cash flow forecasting
- VAT reporting- Variance analysis
- Weekly KPI reporting to deadlines
- Working closely with procurement teams with ongoing projects
- Provide senior finance team with key financial intelligence to assist in ongoing projects, financial analysis, and budget/target reporting
- Commentating monthly financial reporting pack data to financial and non-financial department leaders
- Provide assistance and support for quarterly reviews and annual budgets
- Identify areas for improving financial performance of specific divisions of the business
- Regular liaison with external accountants and consultants
The candidate we are looking for: A experienced Management Accountant or an Assistant Accountant ready to step up, with a solid understanding of all aspects of accurate financial reporting. Our client is seeking a full or part AAT qualified candidate, ideally studying their professional qualifications. The successful candidate will require good all round IT experience, with a strong working knowledge of MS Excel. The role works as part of a friendly and energetic team who have developed an efficient function that relies on team work so excellent communication and interpersonal skills will be essential.
