The Role

Main Purpose of Job

To ensure the site optimises its market and commercial position within the business. To continuously improve business methods and provide excellent analysis that can be the basis for strategic decisions. Identify key actions both within the business, individual and prospect customers to enhance long term profitability. Provide, manage & develop the businesses commercial framework enabling local pricing via the sales team, local site & National tenders as well as MNA & PES Tenders. Plus assisting and supporting RF development & budget forecasting, working closely with all key internal departments; Sales, Finance, Design & Operations.

Main Duties

  • Manage / Oversee the internal process for quotation, requests, and tenders on a daily basis.
  • Manage pricing systems, e.g. price lists, costing, customer profitability analysis, and competitor feedback database.
  • Provide proactive, strong, well composed commercial support to the site teams.
  • Ensuring compliance with company agreed parameters for estimating and pricing.
  • Develop and deploy commercial tools to support business improvement and growth.
  • Analysing business data to identify cost reduction opportunities and establish these into the business.
  • Prepare all tenders and e-tenders for discussion about pricing strategy with the relevant teams.
  • Oversee the sites commercial / financial reporting and system checks on pricing and orders from the system.
  • Examine customer process and propose ways of improving their business through creativity and innovation.
  • Develop the systems for an effective placement and transfer as part of managing capacity.
  • Initiate and manage projects to improve business control and profitability, prioritising projects based on business impact.

Skills, Knowledge, and Experience

  • Needs to be systematic in approach and financially literate (not necessarily a qualified accountant).
  • Understanding of the end-to-end sales processes - working knowledge of Cobis would be an advantage.
  • Adaptable, quick thinking, persuasive, strong attention to detail, high work standards, extremely analytical.
  • Highly proficient in using Microsoft office products.
  • Ability to translate commercial data into action.
  • Ability to handle complex projects and data as well as differing priorities at any one time.
  • High degree of interpersonal skills.
  • Highly organised and professional.
