We’re currently recruiting for a Lead Document Controller position, supporting an Electrical & Mechanical installation project at a major UK infrastructure development.
Based in Bridgewater, Somerset.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and self-motivated Lead Document Controller to join a dynamic team. In this pivotal role, you will oversee a small team of specialists, ensuring the efficient management, organization, and retrieval of project documentation, both in electronic and hard copy formats, while maintaining accuracy and compliance with industry standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Document Management: Receive, catalogue, file, and store technical drawings, reports, and related documents in line with company policies and procedures.

  • System Oversight: Allocate and manage the document control system, ensuring smooth workflows and easy access to information.

  • Information Retrieval: Handle information requests promptly, conducting searches and providing general support to project and departmental personnel.

  • Accuracy & Updates: Maintain accurate, up-to-date documentation, ensuring amendments or revisions are managed efficiently.

  • Compliance & Confidentiality: Protect sensitive or confidential documents, adhering to relevant regulations and company policies.

  • Team Leadership: Manage, guide, and support the document control team, fostering collaboration and high performance.

Key Qualities:

  • Self-driven and disciplined, with the ability to work independently.

  • Highly motivated and able to perform under pressure.

  • Detail-oriented, dependable, and trustworthy.

  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize and multitask.

Skills & Experience:

  • Proven experience in a similar role, ideally within a large-scale construction or engineering project.

  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and document control software.

  • Experience with platforms such as ProjectWise, FieldView, SharePoint, or similar collaboration tools.

  • Ability to troubleshoot issues and adapt to fast-paced, deadline-driven environments.

Salary: £45-60k DOE
