Acorn by Synergie is excited to announce an opportunity for a Hire Desk Manager to join a leading plant hire company. The Role:As the Hire Manager, you'll be in charge of managing the Hire Desks to deliver outstanding service and boost sales. Leading a team of Hire Controllers, you will guide them to maintain a strong customer service focus in a busy setting. You will be responsible for line managing a team in Weston-Super-Mare, two part-time staff in Exeter, and one in Liskeard. This role will involve travel to all branches. Key responsibilities:* Manage and support a team of hire desk coordinators to ensure seamless processing of hire requests. * Provide training and mentoring to your team to help them deliver high-quality service, while ensuring adherence to company standards and policies. * Oversee the day-to-day operations of the hire desk, ensuring all plant and equipment orders are processed accurately and efficiently. * Coordinate the dispatch of equipment and ensure availability to meet customer needs. * Ensure all documentation, hire contracts, and agreements are accurately completed and comply with company standards. * Ensure customers receive a top-tier service experience, with reliability and professionalism at every step. * Handle complaints effectively and know when to escalate for further support. Skills & Experience:* Full UK driving license * Background in the plant hire industry, construction, or a related field. * Prior experience in a leadership or supervisory role within a hire desk environment is preferred. * Good understanding of construction equipment, machinery, and plant operations. * Ability to thrive under pressure and in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. * Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality. * Excellent communication skills to build rapport with clients and enhance business opportunities. * Proficient in MS Office and hire desk software (training will be provided).
