You will have the expertise, skills and abilities to provide an outstanding student experience through teaching, learning and assessment, enabling students to maximise their potential. We are looking for an innovative and committed classroom practitioner who would work collaboratively with the team. The post holder will play a key role in inspiring students to engage with the subject material and to participate actively in lessons. As a committed and dedicated teacher, the post holder will contribute to all aspects of the curriculum, ensuring students benefit from a high-quality learning experience.

This is a full-time role, working 37 hours per week.

Day to day of the role

  • Providing high-quality teaching, learning, assessment, and internal moderation of science related units and modules.
  • Tutoring students and giving appropriate support, enabling students to make progress towards, achieving and exceed their goals.
  • Implementing additional workshops and arranging additional support, where appropriate, to ensure that all learners in your groups are supported to achieve and succeed.
  • Assisting students in their progression to either HE or employment and completing UCAS references.
  • Proactively tracking and recording student progress, ensuring that accurate and reliable information on the predicted achievement and success of learners is readily available.

Required skills and qualifications

  • Degree, or professional qualification, which is appropriate to the work.
  • Knowledge and experience of current teaching and learning strategies.
  • Setting and achieving high standards for yourself and your students.
  • Promoting a culture of involvement, listening and responding to students’ needs.
