Change Recruitment are pleased to be working with a well respected and ambitious Weston-super-Mare business who are recruiting a Payroll Officer to join their team on a 12 month maternity cover contract.Working in a team of two, you will share a number of Weekly and Monthly payrolls to pay approximately 1,000 employees. Duties include:

  • End to end processing of company payrolls (weekly and monthly).
  • Updating and maintaining payroll & pension records. 
  • Liaising with staff and management on payroll related queries. 
  • Calculation of SMP, OMP, SSP and OSP payments.
  • Timely RTI submissions including FPS submission.
  • Payroll reporting to meet internal and statutory obligations.    
  • Payroll administration. 
  • Calculation and processing of termination payments. 
  • Processing increases and calculation of back pays. 
  • Assist the Finance Manager with reconciliation and payment of payroll and statutory payments.
  • Assist with pension and benefits calculations.
  • Calculate and process salary sacrifice schemes e.g. childcare.
  • Calculate and process attachment of earnings deductions.

This is a busy role, but is within a very experienced supportive team. You will come to this role is experience running payrolls from start to finish and have good excel skills and understanding. Communication is also key in this role due to being the point of contact for any payroll queries internally.In return this role offers a salary of £27k - £29k as well as an extremely generous holiday entitlement. There is also some flexibility in terms of home working and free parking available. The standard working hours are 8:30am – 5:00pm with a 4:30pm finish on a Friday.
