Lead Maintenance Engineer

Weston Super Mare, North Somerset

Up to 55,000 (Negotiable)

Monday to Friday (Days only) 37 hours per week. (9 day fortnight- an extra day off every other week)

Adept:us are excited to have partnered with a reputable manufacturing business. Based in Somerset, they are seeking an experienced, mechanically biased lead maintenance engineer to join the team.

The department will consist of this role and a junior maintenance technician. You will take overall responsibility for efficient running of all production/process machinery on site. Note, this is a hands on position, with some hands on responsibilities (developing CMMS/maintenance plan etc)

The Role:

  • Reactive Maintenance: Swiftly respond to breakdowns, diagnose issues, and repair mechanical and electrical faults.
  • Planned Maintenance: Perform scheduled maintenance to ensure the equipment remains reliable and functions smoothly.
  • Factory Operations: Oversee and execute factory startups and shutdowns.
  • Equipment Support: Assist with the installation and modification of electro-mechanical systems.
  • Team Collaboration: Provide training, coaching, and support to production and operational staff.
  • Leading a 2 person team (coordinating tasks, assisting the technical support etc)

The Requirements:

  • Relevant qualifications in mechanical engineering or equivalent practical experience.
  • Multi skilled with a bias towards mechanical engineering (competencies within electrical required)
  • Proven experience in maintenance engineering, ideally within an manufacturing environment.
  • A proactive, hands-on approach to problem-solving.
  • Strong skills in diagnosing and repairing faults across electrical and mechanical systems
