This is a full-time position, working 15 hours per week, on a 4 week shift pattern:

Weeks 1-3: Monday and Tuesday: 7.00am - 9.00am and 5.00pm-10.30pm

Week 4: Saturday and Sunday: 3.00pm-10.30pm

Day to day of the role

  • Supporting UCW students to move into their accommodation, welcoming them and helping them feel a part of the residential community and the University as a whole.
  • Supporting students who lose their keys to re-access their accommodation and issuing replacement keys for students as required.
  • Ensuring the court yards are kept tidy and the bins are put out on the appropriate day.
  • Ensuring the fire alarm is working properly, carrying out weekly testing and ensuring all students evacuate the building in the event of the alarm being activated.
  • Helping to resolve low level conflicts within the accommodation.

Required skills and qualifications

  • Experience of working within a support capacity, ideally with young people.
  • Ability to evidence strong professional boundaries in challenging situation.
  • Understanding of and commitment to working in collaborative partnerships.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
